Today was somewhat interesting. Anyone who's lived in Hobart for a long enough period knows who the bag lady is. Whether by name, or by recognition when they see her in the street. She walks around aimlessly each day and is constantly chatting away to herself about the most random things. She walked by us today as Max and I were having coffee in north hobart muttering something about mixers and blending fruit so we stopped her and offered her a seat. Usually she wouldn't even give eye contact or even register that anyone was talking to her at all. Today, however, she joined us for a cigarette and a nice long chat. I might add that the conversation didn't go anywhere at all but Max and I were both in tears by about half way through and this didn't phase her one bit. She kept yacking on about fruit trees, kids, government houses, guinea pigs and mixers. Somehow each sentence wanders off on it's own little tangent.
She may remember us next time she has a sane moment, or she may not. I don't really mind. What's important is she said she'd be in our show. So there you go. Now we just have to wait till we run into her again!
Okay on to the photo. I went for a short drive after work to try and capture the fog that was hanging over the city tonight. It was really quite beautiful. However my tripod is a piece of shit and I couldn't get any sharp long exposures so I gave up and came home.
The Naruto anime is finally out of the filler arc and slammed back into the storyline with friday's episode and it was the best episode I think i've ever seen. That's why this photo is somewhat relevant. Pakkun is great.

I spent my Saturday out at Trav's place in Copping. I mentioned it in my Day Seventeen post. This little square of photos is basically a compilation of four of the many photos I took on the weekend out there. So technically they're not Day Eighteen photos but I was at work all day. Beh.Top left is for the ladies. Men at Work. I know you love boys building trails.Top Right is a pinwheel sitting in Trav's rhubarb garden. He has about 40 sticks of rhubarb, and two sticks of pinwheel. It confuses me a little. Rhubarb isn't really the most versatile vegetable. Yet it's about the only produce growing in his garden. Even then, you can only eat half of it. Apparently rhubarb leaves are quite the poison. My mum used to make stewed rhubarb when i was a child and i'd always be really cautious eating it to make sure no little bits of leaf had snuck their way into my rhubarb. I wasn't going to get poisoned on someone's whim! Anyway the un-cropped version of this photo is a lot nicer. I'll probably upload it separately.Bottom left is the end of what was once the bar in the living area of the house. This was one of the original fixtures of the hotel and the room is heritage listed with crazy carvings in the ceiling. Lit with a Vivitar 285hv on 1/16th with a green gell.Bottom Right is Trav Mitchell himself downside whipping the sketchy hip to dirt at Dodges Ferry skate park.After this I made my way to Mezethes to shoot some photos for a brochure. Then we carted our band gear to the Brisbane Hotel where we played a show with Grey Daturas. The show was fun, from what I can remember. I made it a little more interesting for myself by starting a tab and drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol before playing our set. At one point I had to stop playing completely because i completely forgot how to play one of the songs. I'm a little nervous of the tab's $$$ after the night though...ahh fuck it. I had fun. So did Andrew Harper apparently...Andrew Harper on The Ghost and the Storm Outside"Good performance is what saves this act from disappearing up it's own clacker. Fun to watch. Yeah." It was such a fun day today. I got woken up by Hugh in my room (down from Launceston) and he's a pretty motivating person to see first thing in the morning. All smiles and positivity all the time. So we went out to Trav's place in Copping and everyone put shovel to dirt and worked on the trails for a while. His place is a beautiful early 1900's hotel that's been completely run down and neglected. He has plans to renovate the whole thing. I'll post some photos I took of the house later on.Anyway, after that we went out to a Jam that was being held at Dodges Ferry park.Hugh Andrew himself cranking a turndown over the most retarded transition i've seen in a while.I should probably also mention that this photo is straight out of the camera. It's always nice to be able to take my photo for the day and be happy with it without even leaving my room. It's even nicer when you're dealing with the most photogenic cat on the planet. Every time I get out my camera she seems to be transfixed by it. She'll just sit there until i'm content with a photo. Only after i've put the camera away will she stop posing. Little hussy.I love kitten.As you can tell by the deep blues it's a lovely day outside. So as soon as i've posted this i'm getting out there and making the most of it. Work tonight at 4. This was rather impromptue. We were sitting in Max's house and I looked out the window and saw the sunset so we scurried outside and he climbed on the roof and i took a few shots.

Yesterday wasn't really too motivating as I was tired as fuck after working so much and basically just went home and sat around. This photo was taken today on the same day as the next one (Day Fifteen) as today was a much better day.
This photo was taken by rohan because it's pretty hard to take a photo in a mirror when you're not looking through the viewfinder. I set up the camera and focused and then handed it to him to press the button. He did a pretty good job! Great Job!
Firstly, this was the worst cigarette I've ever smoked. They're called Cohibas. My friend Mikey knocked off a carton of them from his job at a second hand dealer in Melbourne earlier in the year. The amount of toys, figurines and random items in his room is amazing. He slipped a box of these Cohibas into my brother's bike box when we were over there knowing how much everyone hates them. Along with the shit cigarettes was a dvd entitled 'DOG CIA.' I'll leave the contents of this dvd up to your imagination. I'll just say that dogs weren't the only animals featuring in the production. In fact it was about 90% goat. Disturbing.
Enough of that.
I went for a walk up a street i've never walked up before this morning. Nothing too interesting but it was a nice area. I love this time of year. There's so many colours. Wherever you look. Summer seems so bland compared. Especially for photography. The sun washes everything out. I have work till 10pm tonight then back there 7 hours later for a 5am to 2pm shift. Because of this I most likely won't have any new photos to post until tomorrow night.

I love Bokeh. I love Autumn. Even though Autumn is now over and we're in winter. I thought i'd capture a little bit of what's still shining through. I'll have you know it was probably the coldest it's been at this time of day all year.
